FAQ?

This is your first visit to the AB. You have been here before but you are not sure about? This is an overview of the most frequently asked questions - and, of course, the answers!

Where is AB?
Please refer to the Where is AB page where all transport possibilities are explained.

Questions or remarks about AB in general?
      Mail to info@abconcerts.be

Where can I park my car?
On the Where is AB? page you will find a list of the car parks in the neighbourhood. This web page also contains more details of the attractive formula jointly offered by the AB and the ?Grote Markt? car park.

What time does the concert finish?
A concert in the Main Hall normally starts at 8 pm, a concert in the Club starts at 8.30 pm. In both cases the aim is to finish at about 11 pm. There are, of course, exceptions. It is therefore advisable to carefully read the announcement on the concert pages.

Where can I buy my tickets?
On this very web site of course! You can also stop by at our ticket shop on 23 rue des Pierres. The shop is open all week from 11 am to 6 pm. You can also phone the ticket shop at 32 2 548 24 24. For concerts that are not sold out tickets are available that same night as from 7 pm at the ticket office at the main entrance (Boulevard Anspach). Do not buy tickets in the street. They may be false so that you are denied entry anyway.

How do I pay for the tickets?
Up to two weeks prior to the concert you will be sent a bank draft. After the payment has been settled the tickets will be sent to your home address. Tickets ordered less than two weeks in advance, by phone or via this site, can be paid by credit card. The tickets will also be sent to you unless there is not enough time left. In that case you can collect them at the ticket office on the night of the concert. You can pay either in cash or with your bank card (Bancontact) or credit card (Eurocard-Mastercard, Visa or American Express).

What can I do with my ticket in case the concert is postponed or cancelled?
If the concert has been postponed to a later date you do not have to do anything. Your ticket remains valid for that new date. In case of a cancelled concert your ticket will be refunded. If the ticket was bought at the AB we will refund it at the AB ticket shop or you can send it to Ancienne Belgique, 110 Boulevard Anspach, 1000 Brussels. Do not forget to mention your name, address and account number. The amount will then be transferred to your account. Please note that tickets should be sent back within two weeks after the date of the concert.

Can I bring my children to the concert?
Children aged under 12 years (one child per adult) are allowed free entrance to concerts organised by the AB (check the concert pages). Seated concerts are an exception to this.

What about the culture voucher?
Culture vouchers are issued by the Commission of the Flemish Community. They are valid for both AB productions and co-productions (check the concert pages). They can also be used for tickets bought at the ticket shop or at the ticket office the night of the concert (provided the concert is not sold out!). Culture vouchers can be requested at VGC, 17 Square Sainctelette, 1000 Brussels, fax number 32 2 20 80 200 or via VGC.

What about AB vouchers?
You can buy AB vouchers via this site or at the ticket shop. Their value is either 5 EURO or 10 EURO. These vouchers can be exchanged for tickets for any concert at the AB. AB vouchers are valid in the ticket shop, at the ticket office the night of the concert (not for sold-out concerts!) and in all Belgian FNAC outlets. buy AB vouchers

Can I rent the AB?
Yes you can, under certain conditions. All information on this subject can be found in the section hall rental.

Where can I have something to eat?
At concerts the AB restaurant opens at 6 pm. It is recommended to book in advance by e-mail: resto@abconcerts.be. Sandwiches are available at the bars.

Where can I have a drink?
There are different bars inside the AB where you find a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks, beers and spirits. Drinks should be paid for with drink coins. These can be purchased at the stands at the front left-hand side of the Agora or in the foyer. You can also pay using your Proton card. You can even recharge your Proton card in the Agora.

Where can I leave my jacket?
Go downstairs at the right side or the left side of the Agora. There you find the individual lockers. Unfortunately the number of lockers is limited. It is best to share lockers or simply leave your jacket in the boot of your car. It is best to make sure to arrive in time so as to have more luck in finding a free locker, especially in wintertime.

Can I leave the AB during the concert?
For various practical reasons it is not possible to re-enter after having left the premises during a concert.

Who will take care of me?
If you think the concert is too loud, despite the special attention we pay to it, you can always ask for free earplugs at the bar.
In case of a faint, nosebleed or another discomfort (or possibly more serious things) you can always call upon a steward. They are all trained to give you professional assistance.

I am a disabled person. Can I come to a concert?
The main hall is at ground-floor level and has a perfect wheelchair access. Our stewards will gladly help you to get to the circles or the club. They can also accompany you to the toilet.

Who can I give my demos, cd?s, biography, etc?
Send your material labelled with the name of the band, phone number and/or e-mail address to: Ancienne Belgique, attn. Programming Service, 110 Boulevard Anspach, 1000 Brussels. We listen to everything that is sent to us. If we want to arrange something we will contact you. You can always contact us to give your personal opinion but please allow us three weeks before you do so. A series of telephone calls, faxes and emails will not help to persuade us.

Can I bring my dog along?
No you cannot! In everybody?s interest pets are not allowed at the AB.

Can I take photographs?
Artists mostly forbid photography. Making photographs, video or audio recordings is therefore nearly always forbidden.
